Hybrid components for the medical technology sector

Hybrid components with a healthy efficiency potential

An increasing number of medical device manufacturers are relying on hybrid components. As a development and production partner of prominent medical technology companies for many years, TB&C's application-specific hybrid components offer maximum precision, quality and efficiency.

Case study

Chassis

The carrier plate is made of high-strength stainless steel with a thickness of 0.6 mm.
The reason is the required stiffness of the finished overmolded component and the resistance against cleaning agents and disinfectants.

The functional elements are overmolded in 3 separate sections: This separation results in an acoustic decoupling of the gearbox (reduction of the operating noise)

Section 1:
Battery compartment

Section 2:
Fixation of the optical elements that are to be assembled in an exact position

Section 3:
The lower part of the gearbox housing with bearings for the gear pairs

The overmolded plastic elements are made of LCP (liquid crystal polymer) to limit warpage and ensure dimensional stability while in operation.
